Review of Casio Midsize G-Shock Tough Culture Limited Edition Solar Digital Watch #G5500MC-5

While I was waiting for the watch to come in, I saw it on sale for $130 at a local Macy's.

The watch doesn't take that long to charge. I placed it between the blinds in my window before I went to sleep, and I woke with a fully charged G-shock. Haha! Get it?

Seriously, the watch looks great and it's not as bulky as I expected. It goes with most outfits. For me it's a trendy but modest watch that I can wear just about anywhere. The lighting in the picture is darker than the watch actually looks in normal light in case anyone is wondering.

Yes the buttons are stiff. If you're somebody's track coach I wouldn't recommend this one, but other than that, this is one of the coolest of the G-shock classics. My only gripe is that I wish it had the atomic receiver.

Review of Casio Men's G-Shock Mudman Digital Sports Watch #G9000MC-3

Many G-Shocks are tough, well I guess all of them are.But according to my friends and I this is arguably the toughest available. The case is covered in a thick resin coating and the buttons are thick but hard to press due to their anti-mud capabilities. The camo print looks really cool, especially if you know a hunter or someone who enjoys the outdoors.Despite it's size, it is very comfortable and light.I wear mine when I know that I will be doing something that may otherwise harm my other watches. This watch can and will take anything you throw at it, laugh, and ask for more. The dual illuminator is also cool in that the whole face lights up.Overall, if you have a guy or even a girl for that matter who likes camo, is rough on normal watches, or enjoy G-Shock watches, this is one they will enjoy.

Review of Casio Men's G-Shock Classic Solar Powered Digital Sports Watch #G2310-1V

This watch is a great little watch -

Time set from front panel only - no ability to set from WWV.

I have not had to reset it in the months I have owned it. It is yet to be a full second off - so far the watch has not slipped as far in time as my watch setting error.

12 hour or 24 hour time.

Default state - displays year, month, day, day of week, and status of rechargable battery.

World time state - displays the time in one of 31 time zones, including GMT. Each zone can be controlled for DST.

Data - holds a short alphameric pointer and a bt of data that uses the year, month, day, hour, minute, second - I use it for Ham call signs. Holds 30 items. Suitable for phone numbers, for example.

Alarm screen - the watch will remember five different alarms by day, month year, hour, minute, sec. It will alarm the same time and day every year or the same day every month or the same time every day - or just once, at a particular year, month, day, hour, minute, and second. There is a sixth screen where you set the hourly chime on or off.

Stopwatch screen: The stopwatch does splits and final time. It also does a "countdown" where it beeps three times and then a "go beep", optionally, if you are timing someone in something and they want an honest and accurate start.

Timer screen: The timer will do countdowns - either a single time or it will automatically repeat.

The face is a solar cell. It automatically recharges the battery. The watch can be put to sleep by holding adjust and mode - you won't get alarms or beeps in that mode, nor will you get a display - but the watch will keep time for much longer.

The backlight really works - in the old days, backlights on LCDs were miserable and then some of the watchmakers used tritium radioactive elements that were nicely lit but which you can't get anymore. Then there were some attempts at better pushbutton backlights - this is about the best I've seen. It is clear and you really can see the watch using it.

It works in one of two modes. One mode is that the watch backlight only engages when you push the button on the face - that's right, the easy to reach silver button on the front center of the watch lights it up.

The other way is to use the automatic feature - If you wear your watch on the outside of your left wrist, then IF it is not too bright and as you look at the watch the way most people do, by tilting your wrist toward you, the watch automatically lights up. This is essentially automatic - you look at your watch and it is lit up. This function is selectable - You might want to make it manual to save battery. I find it is too convenient to do without.

Despite the wonderful pressure ratings, unless you are very small, this watch is not suitable as a dive watch. The band won;t fit over a wet or dry suit. If you are doing warm water wimp diving in a skin or a shortie, you can use it - if you need to put it over a wet suit or a dry suit, the band is simply way too short. I know of no source for a band extender. Neither do the people at Casio. For short duration use, a wire tie or two will probably work.

What 20 bar rating means to me is that I could take it diving. Or, I could get it wet and not worry, even if the water is coming out of a hose with some force. The band means that I can't wear it where I need it - on the outside of my wetsuit or drysuit.

Review of Casio Men's G-Shock Analog Chronograph Watch #G1000H-1A

It is a beautiful watch and it is a nightmare to set time, change time zones and make it actually work.
I still haven't figured out how to move the minute hand, so it is 5 minutes late and i just ad 5 min to it when i look for time.
Beautiful watch. only unnecesarilly complicated

Review of Casio Men's G-Shock Ana-Digi Shock Resistant Street Rider Sports Watch #G304RL-1A1V

Generally a nice watch with useful features, especially the analog hands that complement all of the normal digital features like stopwatch, alarms, and world times. Having the owner's manual handy is an absolute must, however, as changing and activating settings is not intuitive and the tiny print on the dial is hard to read. All of that said, I would recommend this watch.

Review of Casio Men's G-Shock Ana-Digi Sport Watch #AW591TM-1A

I bought this watch using my wife's account. This is my first G-shock watch, and I have to say I am very happy with the watch.I was concerned that the watch would be big and bulky, but it is not.All of the various functions are fairly easy to operate. The only issue with the operations of the watch, is that you need a magnifying glass to read the instructions.

There are 2 things wchich I do not like about the watch that kept me from giving it a 5 star rating, and I have found that other people have said the same thing in their reviews.First, the back light is just ok.If it is dark, you cannot see the digital porting of the watch at all. The Indigo light like on Timex watches would be nice.Second, the analog hands can only be adjusted forward. If you miss your time that you are trying to set, you have to go forward until you get to your time again.

Those 2 issues aside, it is a great watch for fairly short money.I would buy a Casio G-shock again.

Review of Casio Men's G-Shock Ana-Digi Sport Watch #AW591CL-1A

This is my second CASIO watch purchase and so far, I've been quite satisfied with my purchase.

The PROS:

1. Looks good
2. Relatively lightweight (compared to other CASIO G-Shock models)
3. Has 5 alarms - can set reminders for almost anything
4. Has a dual-time zone facility - changing to another time zone is as easy as it gets
5. Has metallic buttons on the side which are likely more durable than the plastic ones on other models
6. 200M water resistant - can wear it in almost any environment (added benefit of G-Shock)

The CONS:

1. Relatively large on the wrist - you may be unable to button some full-sleeve shirts with it on
2. Resin-cum-leather band - can be an irritant when wet as opposed to a resin band
3. The LED light is unidirectional (from bottom-left) - and not all parts of the dial get illuminated adequately, especially the multi-function display on the far top-right

All in all, a good value for money for the price you pay!
