Review of Timex Men's Ironman 30-Lap Shock Resistant FLIX System Watch #T5F821
The strap has many notches so that the size is universal.
Features include 3 alarm settings, a timer, Event reminder, stopwatch, 3 time zones, and a Golf score.
Easy enough to use, the LED is clear. The Indiglo is different in convention from the 1st generation. Only the numbers will illuminate which do take getting used to.
Buttons are large and easy to push. The anti-shock feature lets you know it can take punishment over conventional watches. Less bulky in styling than its Casio equivalent.
The golf score allows up to a maximum of 15 strokes per hole - which I hope will not be necessary for any golfer (but a friend got close at 14 strokes). Given most electronic scorers max out at 100 this maxes at 270 strokes (No one is this bad - not even when they are 3 years old). This is a nice extra feature that is easier than keeping track of the score card and pencil when walking the course and carrying the bag on your back, as I do.
All in all, this is a solid watch with a wide range of features. I highly recommend this watch for someone with an active lifestyle - for land and in the water.

Review of Timex Men's Expedition Premium Collection Chrono Alarm Watch #T45951
One of the negatives of timex watches is their lack of identification. i have recently collected 6 timex analog watches, none of which has any markings as to model number. The model under discussion is T45951. The only ID markings on my watch is "922 PP." Go figure.
This watch comes with an instruction sheet that was printed for a previously available model upon which this model is based. This model, I believe no longer available, is heavier with a rounded crystal, an integral metal band and identical features. The current model has a larger face and is easier to read. It would have been appropriate for Timex to print an instruction sheet specifically for the current model.
Although we are discussing the T45951, I would like to point out that there are similar models available with identical styling/features, but in two other colors. Our model has an ivory field with black markings which I find most legible and esthetically appealing. There is also a model available with a black field and white markings, and also one with a blue field and white markings with an integral stainless band.
As is the case in all similar Timex chronographs, the upper/right sub dial measures .1 of a second. I find this useless and would prefer a dial measuring 6 or 12 total elapsed hours.
The dial alarm setting is unique to Timex watches and is the best feature of the watch. It is easy to set, and very accurate. The same can be said of the Indiglo illumination system. The alarm and Indiglo are two important features that are not easily found in other watches no matter how expensive. Also, the legibility of the watch face is excellent. The watch has a setting feature that allows one to set the hours without having to scroll through minutes. This is also a help in manually advancing past 31 (or 30) when the month has less days.
I have had this watch for two months, purchased from Amazon, and it has become my everyday timepeice. The only change I have made to it Is replacing the supplied leather band. All in all the best watch for the money with superior features and very attractiving styling. Change the 1/10 th of a minute sub dial to one that counts elapsed hours and I would rate it near perfect.

Review of Casio Men's G-Shock Ana-Digi Black Shock resistant Sports Watch #G511-1AV
I ended up getting the G-Shock. I've worn it daily for the last eight months or so. The band is still good. It's not starting to come apart. You can't even tell which eyelet I put the tongue in everyday. There's no wear at all. It's gone through barbed wire, rocks and sand. It's bumped around on humvees, helicopters and airplanes. The battery is still good and the metal still shines. There are minimal scratches.
Negative: It's a trick getting used to which button does which function. It's also a pain to change the analog time when you move across time zones. The hand only advances, there's no counter-clockwise movement for the hands. But that's really it.
I think this is the best watch I've ever had.
One of the folks that I work with also has this watch and he's the kind of guy who will spend $1000 on a watch without flinching.
It's a tough watch. It's attractive. It's not so big that it looks more like a belt buckle on your wrist. It doesn't give you altitude and it doesn't pay your taxes. It does, however, keep time with wonderful consistency. The blue/green light won't ruin your night vision.
If you are going through Amazon's catalogue like I was looking at the $400 watches and drooling. Take a break, save some cash and enjoy this watch.

Review of Puma Men's Motor Sport Collection Top Race Chronograph Watch #PU101011001
Description says that case diameter is 38 millimeters - and I was looking for exacltly that size for smaller watches - but this one actually has diameter of 42 to 44 mm. I uploaded photo with one of the rulers I tried.
Anyway, I removed several links from bracelet, and though watch is quite big for my wrist is still feels just fine.
BTW, watch's hands are luminous, which is great and it's not in description.

Review of Timex Men's Expedition Rugged Field SHOCK Analog Watch #T49261
This is a solid time piece. It appears outwardly to be well made and durable. I'm not sure how good the movement might be. Product specs reveal that the watch is made in the Phillipines and the strap is made in China.
Having said that, this is a good price for a shock-resistant and 100 Meter, (330 Ft), water resistant field watch. Timex, a world community manufacturer, has a great reputation for dependability and this is a good example of why. This is not a dive watch, but it is not intended to be one. It does one thing very well. It displays the time accurately and boldly, extremely readable in all light conditions, (The push-button "Indiglo" feature is awesome), and promises to be durable, rugged and well capable of providing years of faithful service in just about any kind of day to day use.
The case diameter is 40 to 42 MM depending upon where you measure it. The protective lugs at the knurled crown are a nice feature, usually found on more expensive brands and models. There is a rubber shock absorber between the stationary bezel and the case. Timex boasts a 10 year battery life, depending upon backlight usage. To my knowledge, no one else comes close to that with an analog quartz movement. If the watch lasts that long, it will have been worth the purchase price many times over. With a mineral crystal and well made leather band it really is a total package. This watch is manly in appearance, very comfortable on the wrist, and at a glance, it looks to be more expensive than it is. I have large wrists, but the watch and strap fit me comfortably with length to spare.
I am very happy with mine. If this is your style, you can't go wrong at this price.
Additional Note:
After more than 6 months since I made my purchase on this model, it has proven to be a real winner. It is the least expensive of any watch in my collection. And it is, HANDS DOWN, ABSOLUTELY THE MOST ACCURATE !!! The only one of my watches that comes close is my All Swiss Made "Swiss Army Aquagraph" dive watch, made by Wenger. (It too was bargain priced)
In six-plus months this watch has neither gained nor lost a single second, NOT ONE !!! I have no illusions about quality when dealing with low-priced Timex products. Most of my watches are considerably more expensive, and are, no doubt, better quality. But this one has been seeing alot of wrist time with me. Weightlessly comfortable to wear, attractive yet rugged in appearance -- Oh, and did I mention --- FLAWLESSLY ACCURATE !!!
I haven't put it to any kind of torture test. Not into that. But I would feel comfortable wearing this watch into any extreme field or work situation, especially considering the cost. From what I know of Timex, it would likely "Take a Licking and Keep On Ticking", laughing at my lack of faith.
If this is your style, get one -- you won't be sorry. It's one of the best low priced choices anywhere in the market.

The exceptions for this function are if the chronometer or timer are running.
But if you want to glance at your wrist to see what time it is, you'll have to push a button and wait about 3 seconds to get the time displayed....I'm slowly getting used to it.And no more discreetly checking the time because the button you push to get to get the time displayed makes a nice BEEP.
Other than that, I'm very happy with this watch. It's got all features I need, it's simple to use, and it's cute.

The indiglo light should stay on for 3 seconds when ever the indiglo button is pressed, but again this is not the case. You must hold this button down in order to keep the light on. Other Timex watches have the 3-second On feature but not this one. Ok, how about having plus and minus buttons for setting stuff. Nope, not this model, but other Timex models have this feature. And, this is a very nice feature on other Timex watches.
Not to say I hate this watch, but I'm getting there. It is very accurate and the band is far more comfortable then the rubber/plastic types.

Review of Casio Men's G-Shock Solar Atomic Watch #GW700A-9V
With so many fine Casio choices, and after reading numerous reviews of all the Casio Atomic Solar and Pathfinder watches, it was difficult to come down to a final decision. I had originally thought I would get a Pathfinder model, but the significantly higher cost and likely bulkier size steered me to the G-Shock models, and I could not be more pleased.
Since this is, after all, a watch, the most important feature to me was accuracy. Casio's website (http://www.casio.com/products/Timepiece/G-Shock/GW700_Series/product/GW700A-9V/)indicates +/-15 seconds per month. I think that is probably conservative, but certainly acceptable, even without Atomic Timekeeping. Based on my relative short term use, I'm guessing it will probably end up being closer to 5 seconds per month, again without atomic updating.
Atomic Timekeeping:
In viewing many of the Casio watches which have this feature, the reviews seemed to be mixed, with a significant number saying the feature (or lack thereof) was very disappointing. Living in Mayberry (Mount Airy, NC,) a pretty good distance from Fort Collins, I had to assume that I would probably not be able to get the signal. So did I still want the watch, at a price thatcertainly included such a sophisticated feature ? Sure, why not. I could always return it.
The first night after I got the watch, I followed the directions and placed it in a window, facing southwest, which was the best that I could do. And wonder of all wonders, the next morning it had synced with the radio signal!! Notice the small circular dial on the lower right corner of the watch face. That now has the letter "G" in the circle, indicating a strong signal was received. Pressing the receive button in the lower right corner shows the time of the sync. The next night, I left the watch on the night table next to my bed. Again a successful sync. The next night, I left it in another room on a bedside table, not near a window. Again, the sync was successful.I kept the watch "stand" that came with the watch. It seems just right for synching purposes.
Solar Power:
Casio says this watch has "Tough Solar Power." I'm not sure how that differs from regular solar power, but when I got the watch, it was already set to the proper time, day of the week, and date. The small solar strength arrow on the left side of the watch face indicated that the battery had a "middle charge." I placed the watch face up under an incandescent lamp for a couple of hours. The arrow moved up to "high" and has stayed there since.
Watch face:
The picture of the watch face is accurate except that the day of the week and date and month are actually darker than in the picture. There is plenty of contrast in normal lighting, and a brief touch of the "G" button below the watch face on the band quickly lightens the screen. The regular time screen shows exactly what I wanted: time, day of week, date, battery level. Other options are shown in the upper left and right of the watch face.
Watch band:
The resin band is very comfortable and has 12 holes for adjustment. I am slender and the 4th hole down from the watch is just the right size for me. So it has plenty of slots for expansion, especially in the larger direction.
Watch size and weight:
Even on my wirey arms, the watch is not too large, nor too heavy. In fact it is smaller than my old Timex Ironman, but heavier. The casio specs say it weighs slightly less than 2.4 onces. I weighed mine on a set of postal scales and it came out at just short of 2.6 onces. Again, not an issue.
I have not tested the other features of the watch, but I do not expect any surprises.
All in all this is the best watch I have ever owned, solidly built, and with the major features that I wanted, all of which perform flawlessly.

Review of Bulova Women's Diamond Dial Chronograph Watch #96P003
The dial is white, without color reflections like you can see with mother of pearl. I also love the design of the numbers 4,8 and 12, the rest are little diamonds.
The 3 chronographs are: 60-minute timer, 24 hour hand, and at the bottom second hand. At first I thought the second hand is the long hand like you see on every watch, but this is 60 second stopwatch. It`s always at 12 o`clock position (if you want to measure seconds you have to push the top button at the right, if you want to reset push the 3rd on the right and it goes rapidly to 12 o`clock again). The instructions are very easy, I actually set the watch without reading.
The band is very nice too, I got 2 links removed and now fits perfectly. It has hidden clasp so it won`t scratch or pull any fabric. Although my watch was a little bit dusty (maybe a display model before), I am happy. I removed the dirt with a q-tip. The stainless steel is very shiny. The weight is just perfect; not heavy at all, but of course not light like titanium watches. Shipping was fast. Now I`m checking the time, if everything works like suppose to.
My husband also likes this watch. Its more classic yet modern than others with a similar style but more 'bling' factor (f.e.Bulova 96R19 or Invicta 4718-those are nice, but I wasn`t crazy about them and I didn`t want any bling PLUS Invicta is way to heavy with invisible diamonds). Great with jeans, but will work for an elegant dress too. It`s not too big (like my Casio Baby-G), but I was looking for a little bit oversized. It won`t go out of style, it`s simple but not boring.
I`m gonna love it for a long time!
Update April 2009- the watch looks awesome in the sun, shines like a fine piece of jewelry. I have a lots of compliments! Still loving my watch!:)

Review of Casio Men's Sea Pathfinder Tide Watch #SPF40-1V
The compass is seems accurate and is easy to calibrate. It is ideally suited for emergency navigation and for casual use such as trail hiking and river boating. I'm not sure I'd want to use it as my only compass for serious hiking or over the horizon boating, but perhaps that's just my distrust of electronics in mission critical environments.
The barometer is a little more hit-or-miss. It's accuracy is questionable given its fluctuation with altitude or temperature. This is not a Casio problem - it happens with all barometers especially wrist-mounted. Despite these issues the barometrer does a fair job of tracking the trend over the last 24 hours. Serious moutaineers may miss the multi-day tracking and using the barometer as altimeter, but most will appreciate it for the simple data it provides. I wish there were more display options, like a large multiday graph option for instance, but the small graph is fine.
Temp fluctuates when this is worn on the wrist, but not too much - perhaps a couple of degrees hotter than true outside temperature. It may be less accurate in cold temperatures than hot, but I'll have to wait a few months to test that theory.
The tide and moon features are what make this watch unique among triple-sensor watches, so I imagine that will be a key selling point for most. Both work well enough, though they will not replace a tide chart. The tide graph shows the general point in the cycle, but not with great accuracy. It's really only possible to estimate high tide with an hour or two. It would be nice of the actual hightide time were displayed or at least the graph had greater specificity. The moon tracking is a nice touch, since it allows one to estimate the size of the tides (spring and neap). But it's only an estimate - the watch does not tie moon and tide data together, leaving it to the user to figure it out. Some other tide watches actually have charts built-in that provide much more accurate data for particlar beaches, but are limited to limited spots. Since the Casio use longitude and other data to estimate the tide, it is less accurate for specific spots but more usefull overall. The ability to forcast the moon phase days in the future, but not to do the same for tide, leaves me wondering what they were thinking.
Other features of the watch include a countdown timer, stopwatch, and five alarms, which are all just fine. The five alarms cannot be set by day, but I suppose if you want to set a time for each day and just activate it as necessary that does the job. If you use the stopwatch and coundown timers frequently you may find switching between the two annoying, since they use the same function (you just set the the countdown timer to zero to put it in stopwatch mode). Also there are no lap-timers.
Downsides to the watch basically boil down to compleixity and size. While the watch is pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it, it is not entirely intuitive an all screens, and requires some memorization. Setting the tide data requires far too much research on the internet, and casio should provide better data either in the manual or on their website about how to set the data for most large coastal cities and popular recreation areas. The size of the watch is HUGE. It is larger even than the Suunto watches with similar features. The biggest annoyance I have with the size is the height, which is made unnecisarily taller by the rotating bezel. But for some the size won't matter (some may like it) so it is really a matter of taste.
Overall the eatch offers a great set of tools for most casual uses and does it at a very reasonable price. I recommend it to casual adventurers unconcerned about the size.
