This watch has the features, weight/feel that I wanted for work. (HEMS)
The "atomic time" feature coincides exactly with our helicopter's Garmin 530 radios.The backlight lasts long enough after pressing to write down and view times without repeating over and over again.The only reason I gave a 3/5 is the watch arrived without instructions.None.
I do not know if that was a Seller issue (Chelsea) or Manufacturer. (Casio)I have enough gadgetology experience that I could eventually figure it out.I prefer instructions and if I cannot find any on-line, it may take a while.(Syncing the radio signal, changing from Central Time to Pacific, changing the 12 hr format to 24 hr, etc.)Overall, this is exactly what I have been looking for.

Addendum:Go to Casio's website.Enter in the 4 (or 3) digit number from the back of your watch and it has a library of all the relevant instructions manuals in pDF format.Which, come to think of it, is a little easier to read than those manuals they usually put under the display box.But it is an additional hassle if you don't have internet access.

I had been looking for a watch for a while, but nothing grabbed my attention till I saw this watch.Black and Silver?? Best of both worlds.I needed a watch that wouldn't break.I have probably bought about 10 $20-$30 watches, that broke shortly after buying them.I figured since I am making good money right now, I would splurge on my self.And I am well worth it!This watch was well worth it!

Only reason why I didn't give this watch 5 stars, is because of its size.I was expecting a woman's size watch, this one looks more like a man's size watch.Which is no biggy to me I like the over sized looking woman's watch.I got my man to try it on and he has big hands and wrists and it fits him perfect.Its a little loose on my wrist, but it's sooo pretty!!!I did do a Google search for this exact make of watch and on a couple of the sites they do have this listed as a man's.I went to the Tommy Hilfiger site, and it is listed as womens.

My wife unwrapped this watch, tried it on for a couple hours, and gave up. The face is much too dark, and the display ranges from dim to completely invisible depending on the angle and type of ambient light. We plan to return it and find a different watch instead.

I bought this watch to replace a Timex Xtreme watch for which I could no longer replace the one-piece resin band. It too had the pulse mode and I wanted another similar watch. I like having the pulse count feature for monitoring my heart rate while working out. My only complaint is that the readout could be illuminated more brightly for night viewing. The black on white is good for day viewing, but the blue illumination for night viewing is a bit hard to see.

I just bought this watch as a gift for my wife.(See there honey, you're world famous!I just mentioned you on Amazon.)

IT's a very handsome conservatively styled women's watch, all polished stainless steel.Solid (not rolled) bracelet links.We're both really pleased with how it looks. Now we will see how it runs.According to Bulova's website, all Bulova watches are guaranteed to be accurate to within one minute per year. Bulova was recently purchased by Citizen, and their watches are excellent, so hopes are high.We got an excellent price, too, under $90.00.I see it has gone up a lot since a few weeks ago.Bulova's list price is $175.

We haven't had the bracelet length adjusted yet, and boy! does it need adjusting. The watch must be made with real Amazons (plug!!) in mind as it is even longer than the band on a man's Orient professional divers' watch of mine --before I removed a few links to fit it to my wrist.

Just like a Timex Triathlon, except the "fast wrap" isn't the same, it has a velcro piece but the watch itself is still held on the band by a separate layer of elastic strap, instead of being an integral part of the strap.It wiggles more and gets caught on things more than the old style, but is still OK.

Also, if you change to the stopwatch and use it, the next time you click on the "mode" button it brings you directly back to the time, instead of cycling through the timer, alarms, etc.I don't remember my old one's doing that, but I like this.

i bought this watch when i starting running about 6 months ago. the watch was perfect. the buttons and functions are designed just right. the display is just the right size for seeing when on the run and the functions work easily even when i'm breathing heavy. i particularly like the ability to store lap times. 4 weeks ago the battery died in it and i took it in to have the battery changed. the watch didn't work properly after the battery change so i sent it into timex service. they sent me a new one. the service was great.

Review of Timex Women's Ironman Sleek 50-Lap Resin Strap Watch #T5K005

So far this watch has worked out well for me. Its simple, easy to use and comfortable. I did not really need the directions to program the watch itself, but I do not use some of its more fancy alarm and lap meter functions. The watch itself is easy to read and the indiglo is also easy to read at night. I have not yet taken the watch into the water but I expect it to hold up well.

So far the watch is a pretty good watch but nothing overly exceptional either.

Review of Timex Men's Expedition Classic Digital Outdoor Performance Chrono Alarm Timer Watch #T48061

I have had this watch for 4+ years and it died today.It appears that water leaked into the housing and corroded the terminals that provide data to the LCD screen...thus making it so a 3 and a 9 look the same.However, I am confident that this was an old age problem and not a Timex problem. FYI the waterproof is only supposed to last a few years at most on all watches.

1) Durable- It endured a ton of scuffs and scratches on the plastic front and did not hinder the viewing of digits.While taking this watch apart to diagnose it, its guts are VERY solidly put together...even the battery took a few minutes to get out.The buttons never started "sticking" like most other (cheap) watches do after old age.
2) Sleek- Numbers are large and easy to read.No watch should be without a date and day-of-the week display and this one is no exception.The face is MEDIUM sized...great for people like me with smaller wrists (man) or people who don't want to create an eye-sore on their wrist.The face is covered with a silvery tan paint that eventually flaked off, but the plastic underneath it was also tan colored.That made it so it looked the same even after the paint came off.The buttons are wide and easy to push.
3)Great battery life- The quoted duration of the battery is only 3.2 years, according to Timex.com.I have not had to change the battery yet after 4+ years.
4)Band - The only partially bad thing I can say about it is that the band is Velcro.Velcro loses it's "grip" after being taken on-and-off 400 times.Thus you will have to replace the strap every year or so for about5-10 dollars if you want that firm grip again.I still think the band is the best I ever used because it is easy on/off and doesn't snap like metal, tear like leather, or lose springs like those latchless metal ones. Completely worth the cost of replacement.

I am definitely planning on buying another one of this watch.Absolutely love it.The fact that it is only $28 and free shipping is even better.

EDIT:I did purchase another one of these a little under 2 years ago...same story...face is scuffed up but display still easily readable.Paint is just now starting to peel.I'm also adding info about changing the strap since someone asked about it in the comments.

The bands are sold at Kohl's (department store) and I think I saw them at walmart. If you can't find them at walmart or don't have a kohl's, just try various watch stores and jewelery counters- look for them on spinning carousels on the counters. The strap is held in to the body by 2 silver spring-loaded bars on the back. I take a very small flat head and push the spring half in and working it out until the spring comes free (careful because the spring bar will shoot out- replacement band comes with 2 new spring bars so don't worry if you lose them). Repeat for the other spring bar. When looking for the replacement band, be sure to take the old one with you. Some bands have a slightly thicker "stretchy" part than others and this can make it a pain to change out (it's possible though). I think the one I get is labeled as "6-8 mm" but I'm not positive. Thinking about it, 6-8 is the one the "petite" version of this watch comes with (smaller face- what I wear)..8-10 mm might be what comes on the regular version. You then install the replacement in the reverse order as removal...hold the stretchy part in the slot then put the spring bar over it and make sure its ends gets in the holes.

PS: The replacement band also comes with picture instructions but we all know given instructions usually aren't very user friendly.

Cost of replacement band: 7[...]. Total time to change out band: < 5 minutes.

Bought this watch at a PUMA store for $220 then found it here on Amazon for less than 1/2 price.Good thing I didn't have the band adjusted!I ordered from Amazon and returned the store bought watch.

The style is perfect for all occassions - isn't too fancy for casual (ok maybe I wouldn't wear it to the gym) and it looks good when I'm wearing nice clothes and heels too.I love that the little knob to adjust the time is on the left side because it doesn't dig into my wrist.

The watch is very heavy and feels high quality.One star off because the polished stainless scratches fairly easily.I'll have to get this baby touched up (buffed) every 6 months or so to keep the band looking nice.

I have had several Timex watched over the past few years, and by far this is the best looking one I've seen in the market, however it's missing some standard functionality in most Timex watches.

Pros:
* You can use this as a dress watch, it's very stylish.
* The quality of the band seems very good, at least it seems like this is really stainless.
* Comes with indiglo light, 2 alarms, 2-time mode and the standard ironman features: chronograph, timer, etc.

Cons:
(I hope Timex reads this feedback)
* I wish it had a 5-minute snooze backup alarm which I had on my prior Timexs.
* I used to have a 25th Anniversary Triathlon and I loved the weekday alarm, instead this watch comes with an alarm that you can set for a specific date, I don't anticipate using this feature ever.
* It doesn't have a night mode, usually if you hold the indiglo light it would switch to a mode which doesn't require you to hold the indiglo button to keep the light on.
* The set button is the same as the Indiglo light button. I found this makes setting the alarm extremely difficult while in the dark.

Review of Swiss Army Women's Watch #24117

A good watch is something you should buy based on a number of factors. Durability, looks, quality, style and materials. As you can see, some of these factors are personal preferences, so what follows is my opinion based on some of these intangibles.

First off, quality, materials. Swiss Army has a long held reputation for making fine, durable watches. This one carries those craft genetics. Attention is paid to every detail and to be blunt-it runs like a swiss watch-because it is.

Review of Casio Women's Baby-G White Tough Solar Power Digital Watch #BGR300-7

I have had this for a few weeks now.I wanted something I could wear while out with my two young children, particularly at the beach and not have to worry about it.I also wanted something without a battery, both for the environment and for convenience. This watch fits the bill. I NEVER worry about having it on...no matter what I am doing. This is my first digital sport watch so it is a bit counterintuitive for me to set and I don't need all the features, nor do I know how to work them - the guide is very good, I just have no interest beside the time, the water-resistance and the shock-proofness.

The only downside for me is that it needs to be in bright light regularly to re-charge. With my analog watches, I pull the little stem and it stops the watch. Since this is a spring/summer watch for me,this means that I have to leave it out of storage ( not in a drawer or box )for the rechargeable battery to stay functional.My solution to this is to keep it on my night stand directly under my reading lamp, where it gets a bit of bright light every night. It will be left there for the entire Fall/Winter.I originally disliked this alternative but the watch is so useful to me that I will live with it.

The watch will do what I need it to do.But one reason I choose this watch among several others is because the seller described it as having a black Velcro strap.It is true that the Velcro is in fact black.However that is on the inside of a bright blue band.And the band is build into the watch and does not look replaceable.I needed this watch to wear with my military uniform.So I'm going to have to dye the strap black.Other than that the watch works great.

Review of Casio Men's G-Shock Classic Digital Watch #DW9052-1V

I'm a building contractor who's been wearing G-shocks since 1986.I've probably gone through five of them.With the earlier models I was always having to replace the watch band because I brutalized them so badly on the jobsite.The most recent one I bought was the DW9052.Good watch and the band lasted very well, but the battery is starting to go so I've ordered a new Gulfman.The problem with the DW9052watch is that the battery is only rated for two years.Granted, I got nearly four years out of it, but I'm buying the Gulfman this time because it has a battery that is rated for seven years. Of course, it costs twice as much, which proves you get what you pay for.(Never pay to have a battery replaced in a G-shock, since they can't guarantee it will remain waterproof after they open the watchcase.)

G-shocks in general are the sturdiest watches ever built. I've beaten the hell out of mine for over 20 years.To borrow a phrase from another manufacturer, "they take a lickin and keep on tickin."

One more thing: if a G-shock is your every day watch and you own a dress watch as well, be careful when you wear the dress watch.They aren't as forgiving as G-shocks.You forget you are wearing them and end up going body surfing or something.It's happened twice to me while on vacation. I destroyed a Universal Geneve that my wife bought me in Singapore and nearly ruined a Tissot.My wife was not amused.

First off i want to say that this is one of the best watches I've purchased . The watch is very comfortable and lightweight but feels like it can take any punishment you give it. It looks bigger in the pictures shown on here and is definitely not so big as shown. I was worried about it being too big and chunky but is the exact opposite. Most of the time i forget its there! The band is very flexible and just molds around your wrist perfectly. All the features work as well as you would expect and fit your daily needs. Thealarm is a little quit for me as i am a heavy sleeper, but i use my blackberry instead and that is always with me as well as my G-shock!

The watch is prettier in person than on the site.The stainless/black/pale pink color combo makes it feel modern and cool, while the hint of pink on the face makes it just feminine enough.I have to agree with the other reviews about the fact that the time can be difficult to see from certain angles.The numbers are silvery against a frosty pink background, so the effect is a bit like looking at a message written on your bathroom mirror after it gets all fogged up by your hot shower.Very cool, but just like a message on a mirror, it can be a bit hard to see unless your eyes are looking at it pretty much straight on.For me, the effect is worth having to tilt my wrist to the right angle, but not everyone will think so. The watch is also a good size for me (I'm on the tall side, and some women's watches are just too dainty, but men's are too clunky). This watch is replacing an old casio Baby-G Shock that I had for years and never gave me trouble.So I went with the same brand again.

This is a fine watch, but it is not as described on either amazon.com or timex.com.

The watch is described as having 12 preset timers.It does not. It only has 10.The 15 and 30 second preset timers are missing from this watch.

I bought a similar wathch from timex.com and ran into the same problem.I even checked local store and many of the Timex watches say they have 12 preset timers but they only have 12.

Timex has a problem.

I love this watch.... I use it mostly for work and it can sure take a beating.The time zones features are great, and it has other useful features.Very light, and it isn't nearly as bulky as some of the other casio watches.

The things I don't like:The cities listed are somewhat not what you would expect for some of the European countries (with the time zone feature).For someone who travels extensively, you have to be thinking.You also have no short cut for your home city like my other watch with world time zones.A lot of the cities I travel to aren't listed, so you have to look at the time difference or make sure the city listed is in the zone you want...The timer only counts down from an hour, in my job I need to keep track of flight times so we know how long until landing, so that is useless.On the other hand you can use the timer alarm and easy resets for working out.....My biggest dissapointment was with the strap replacements.I had to go to Germany to find an actual velcro strap to replace the rubber one that was scratching the inside of my wrist.I cannot believe that in this day and age when everyone can customize almost every item purchased online, I had such a hard time with that.

All in all, I am very happy with the purchase, but it took a while of getting it exactly how I wanted it.Plus the fact that the analog and digital times are synchronized is really nice..... Good luck!

Review of Timex Unisex 1440 Sports Resin Strap Watch #T5K082

This Timex watch is a real bargain, but it does have a very large works, which is about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Clearly, this is too large for a smaller wrist, and accordingly not truly unisex.
The watch itself was easy to set up and has a large readable display. However, the function buttons are labeled in red against a gray background and are difficult to read. The start/stop, indiglo, mode, and set buttons are in the same locations on the dial as my previous Timex Ironman watch, so the functions were familiar to me.

Bottom line - If you have a large wrist, prefer a large display, and are short on cash, I recommend this watch. Otherwise, get the Timex Ironman.

I really like this watch, and it meets most of my expections. Not a round face but not quite a perfect square face either, the band is thinner than I expected, but I am use to it now plus it keeps accurate time, it's pretty and the price, I suppose, is quite reasonable. I wear it to work and here I found that its band is not scratch-resistant. The finish is pretty much ruined now and really only noticeable if you look at it carefully, but it is still functional and really I got it as a work watch that wasn't too basic or too fancy. It is just right!

I am an athlete, and paddle in watersports.I've owned 2 Nike Presto Cee's and now the Nike Imara Kylo Cee.They are supposed to be water-resistant to 5ATM.Though this Imara Kylo Cee and the last Presto Cee are beautiful looking watches, they are not very water-resistant.With the Imara Kylo Cee, after about 4 months of daily use (not taking off my watch to wash my hands or paddling on a river), condensation began to develop underneath the face of the watch everytime it was exposed to water.This week, the battery cover fell off.The watch is still less than 5 months old.Why?I have no idea.So now the watch cannot even handle the condensation from my wrist when it sweats slightly in the summer heat.

Though it's a beautiful watch, I do not recommend it.

I am training for the London Marathon and this watch is just what I needed.It's so easy to use, especially when you are running, and records splits too!

I would recommend this watch to anyone who needs a sports watch to record split times.

The Indiglo feature is really cool too in that the actual numbers light up and not the whole watch face.

One other feature that I really like is that the band that you slip the end of the strap through to hold it in place actually has a little nubbin on it that holds it in place along the strap.On all my other sports watches the band always slipped off the strap and the strap would get caught on my clothing.

Just a warning though, the purple is not really that purple, but if you look closely you can tell.As I was more interested in the functionality of the watch, it doesn't really matter to me.

Review of Casio Men's G-Shock Ana-Digi Chronograph Sport Watch #AW590-1A

I spent some time researching every G-Shock offered by Casio and narrowed it down to the AW590-1A for several reasons.

-> I prefer traditional battery over Tough Solar.I have read numerous negative reviews about the rechargable batteries giving out anywhere from 1-5 years and in the end are very difficult to replace.

-> This watch uses a larger CR1220 battery which Casio estimates will last about 3 years and is easily replaceable.

-> The AW590-1A uses round metal buttons, and not the cheaper rectangular plastic ones on some other G-Shocks, which can get "squeaky" and wear out.

Now on to the watch itself.You need to set the analog time separate from the digital, however they do sync up perfectly once both are set.The analog minute hand moves every 20 seconds and seems very refined.

The top led bar simply ticks off every 10 seconds while the left circle shows numeric seconds.The bottom circle shows whether certain functions are activated, like DST, alarm, snooze, hourly signal and split time in the stop watch function.The left circle does the most: in normal time mode it can be toggled to show month/date, day of the week or digital time.It has a nice resolution and also serves as the stopwatch and countdown timer.

World time is cool as only the left circle changes to show you the digital time in another time zone, while the analog stays in your home zone, allowing you to compare times instantly.

The watch has a whopping five separate alarms, one of which has a snooze function.I don't find the need to have that many alarms but some may find it useful.Countdown and stopwatch are nothing special, pretty much what you expect.

There is also an Auto LED feature which I find an unnecessary battery drainer.Once enabled, a quick upward motion of the wrist automatically causes the light to come on.I found that you can quite often set the light off unintentionally. Luckily you can disable this feature.

The physical dimensions of the watch are a good combination of form and function.The mineral crystal face is recessed nicely and protected well but still offers a clear view with a quick glance.

Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend this watch to anyone who genuinely appreciates Casio's G-Shock line watches.

Review of Nike Womens Triax Mia Watch

I purchased this watch from another website, and she was really happy with it.However, after only a year the battery is dead.Seems to be a chronic issue with these watches.In replacing the battery, I turned the battery cover too far resulting in damage to the soft aluminum case of the watch.I was able to replace the cover, but I am positive that the watch is no longer waterproof.We will have to keep an eye on it.
Speaking of the aluminum case, The watch looks like it has survived a war from all the dings and scratches in it.
If this watch survives another year, there will be no battery replacement; it will go to the trash bin.
P.S. to replace the battery, simply turn the battery cover on the back of the watch ONE QUARTER TURN ONLY.The cover did not pop open for me, so I kept turning, thinking it needed to go further, or that it might unscrew off the case.Well, it kept turning, and kept turning, and kept turning.After prying the cover off, I realized that I had forced the blades of the stainless steel cover through the grooves in the aluminum case.Trust me, it did not take that much effort to force it.Lovely.Somehow the cover seems to close somewhat snugly, but it is not a tight fit.It is a horrible design if you ask me.They could have printed an "open" and "close" on the cover/case if they wanted to.
